It’s A Bird. It’s a Plane. It’s Turmeric!

Hey! I hope your day is going wonderfully, let’s jump into this delicious recipe.

Y’all have been requesting this one for quite a while now. I have made it a few times on Instagram and by the looks of it, y’all definitely want it. I am so excited to finally be sharing it with you. The delicious, the nutritious, the vibrant **drumrollllllll** Golden Chia Seed Pudding.

Turmeric is a word that’s been floating around for a while now and I want to tell you everything there is to know about it. Even though I want to do that, there is no way I could ever list all of the incredible studies on turmeric and its important benefits in and on the body. I will do my best to talk about some of the beneficial nutrients found in this incredible root. One of them is curcumin which is the most active constituent in turmeric. It is an anti-inflammatory nutrient that gives turmeric its big name.

What it does. Several studies have been done on curcumin and its ability to reduce pain, lower inflammation, prevent cancer and sooth GI irritation (1). The cancers mentioned here include skin, breast, prostate and colon cancers.

What it beats. As you know, I am a firm believer in natural medicine and the goods that God has created for us here on this planet. Curcumin has long been used for medicinal purposes and it is a bummer the tradition doesn’t live on as much as it should. Here are a few items you could replace or use in conjunction with curcumin (with your docs consent, of course) : NSAIDS, anti-depressants (Prozac), chemotherapy, anticoagulants (Aspirin), pain killers, diabetic meds (Metformin), arthritis meds, IBD drugs, cholesterol drugs (Lipitor) and steroids (2). Before you freak out, this isn’t coming from me, it’s coming from the brilliant Doctor Axe.

A few other ingredients in this delicious recipe are flax seeds (amazing source of fat), hemp hearts (great protein), chia seeds (all around amazing), cinnamon (stabilize sugar), blueberries (high in antioxidants) and granola (lots of good vibes, am I right?). This is such a fun and easy recipe to make in a pinch or while you have all the time in the world because that happens all the time, huh. Be sure to share with your friends and family so they can be in on it too!

  2. I am a huge believer in turmeric! I consume it daily and because of that, for the past 3 years, I have gotten rid of my seasonal allergies. It’s a miracle spice for sure!

Pain-free cycles, peaceful pregnancy, healthy clear skin and actually feeling warm were far off dreams for me just 3 years ago. I couldn’t even imagine having a glass of raw milk or enjoying a bowl of garden salsa (it made me bloated just thinking about it!). Worst of all, I was unsure if I’d ever get to start a family. From being passed out on the bathroom floor from the pain of rupturing ovarian cysts to a vibrant and healthy mom.
