CBD is the rage so, I made a CBD chocolate dessert for you. It’s the rage for a good reason, come find out and get the recipe!
This recipe is something I am SO excited about. CBD oil has been floating around the internet for a while now and you should know the truth behind it. What it is, what it’s for, who it’s good for & so much more. And before you ask, it won’t make you high!
What better way to say hello to CBD oil than having it in the form of a CBD chocolate dessert? I mean, who doesn’t love some chocolate and peanut butter to wind down at the end of the night? You can also have this treat in the morning or the middle of the day, it’s not going to make you zonk! It’s perfect because you can’t taste the earthy taste that’s unpleasant for some. Plus, it’s chocolate… case in point.
Theratreats is a CBD chocolate company that sponsored this post so, HUGE shoutout to them! Be sure to head over to their website to get your hands on some. There is 15 mg of CBD in each piece (4/box) and you can melt it down, bring it on the road, make hot chocolate with it or eat it straight up. While I used the dark chocolate with absolutely nothing else in it, they do have other flavors. You’re in for a treat.
What you’ll need
Theratreats CBD chocolate bar
organic peanut butter
almond flour
coconut flour
coconut oil
maple syrup (or honey)
non dairy milk (hemp)
Did somebody say CBD Chocolate Dessert?
One of my favorite parts about this CBD chocolate dessert is that it contains NO refined sugar. The only sugar in it comes from maple syrup and I barely used any. There isn’t even sugar in the Theratreats chocolate bar! Remember, you can make it with any nut butter of your choosing like sunbutter, cashew, peanut, almond or walnut. You really can’t mess these up, you freeze a bunch of layers of deliciousness and whatever happens happens. Peanut butter is naturally delicious so, you can serve these up to anyone.. kids included. Then, since they’re naturally gluten-free, you can bring them to your weird friend that doesn’t eat gluten aka me.
Science, it’s what I like
So, why’s everyone speaking so (high)ly about CBD… hehe, sorry I had to. Well, I’m so glad you asked because CBD is well-deserving of the lime light it’s getting. CBD stands for cannabidiol and it’s a phytocannabinoid found in Cannabis. CBD is not psychoactive and will not – I REPEAT – will not make you high or give you the munchies. Since it’s rise to fame is fairly ‘new’ there aren’t a lot of studies on it. But the ones that exist show promising results. Here’s what it’s show to help with:
- counteract the effects of THC (getting high)
- anxiety
- acne
- ADD
- arthritis
- neurodegenerative diseases
- seizures
- inflammation
- insomnia
- & pain
WOO, who isn’t stoked about this one? Better yet, God created us to have an entire endocannabinoid system. This system regulates caloric energy balance, immune function and emotional behavior. The way it works is like this: CBD in, says hi endocannabinoid (eBC) system. Then, eBC says “hey hippocampus and amygdala, let’s chill out a little.” = lessened stress. CBD induces autophagy (kill old cells & make room for new ones). Now, if you want more science, you’ll find it in all of my posts like these hormone lovingĀ grain free brownies!

Melt coconut oil & PB together then, pour over the cookie layer & place in the freezer for 10 minutes
-
After frozen, cut into bars & place back in the freezer
-
Melt CBD chocolate & coconut oil into a liquid then drizzle over the bars. Place back in the freezer
-
Store in a glass container in the freezer for up to 2 months (but really, more like 2 days cause they'll be gone)
is it one full cup or oil or one half. super confusing and considering the cost of cbd oil id prefer not to waist a ton of it.
Can you please clarify what you are asking? If it’s asking about CBD – it’s one bar of what I mention in the post. If it about the coconut oil, the amount is stated on the recipe.
You could also use a normal chocolate bar and then add your own drops of CBD oil which would be a great option!
