If you’re thinking about selling LifeWave patches or even just considering the possibility in the future there’s one term you’ll eventually hear a lot:
“Active status.”
When I first signed up as a Brand Partner, I didn’t fully understand what that meant. And honestly, I wish someone had explained it to me sooner because it would have saved me a lot of confusion.
So in this article, I’m going to break down what active status with lifewave as a Brand Partner actually means, why it matters, and how to keep it simple.

First: Staying a Brand Partner vs. Staying Active
These two things are not the same.
You can remain a LifeWave Brand Partner simply by paying the $25 annual fee, even if you never buy patches again. However, being a Brand Partner does not automatically mean you are “active.” Active status only matters if you plan to share the patches and earn commission at some point.
What Does Active Status with Lifewave Actually Mean?
In the simplest terms, staying active means you are maintaining a certain amount of personal volume (PV) each month.
If you’re just starting out, you need 55 PV per month to stay active. In many cases, this basically works out to purchasing one sleeve of patches per month. Every LifeWave product has a PV number attached to it.
For example:
- A sleeve of X39 or X49 equals 77 PV
- Most other patches equal 55 PV per sleeve
So if you purchase at least one sleeve per month, you’ll usually maintain active status.
What Happens If You Reach Manager Rank?
Once your rank increases to Manager, the requirement changes slightly.
At that point you need 110 PV each month to stay active. This usually means purchasing two sleeves of patches per month. I’m not going to dive too deep into higher ranks here because most people reading this are likely just getting started.
Important Thing to Know About PV
One thing that surprises people is that PV does not roll over into the next month.
For example, you might assume that if you buy multiple sleeves in February, that extra volume would carry into March. That’s not how the system works. If you don’t make a qualifying purchase in March, you would lose your active status for that month.
Why Staying Active Matters (If You Want to Build a Business)
If you have even a small interest in sharing the patches with others, staying active can be very beneficial.
This is because when you’re active, you begin accumulating business volume (BV) within your organization.
LifeWave operates on a binary/unilateral hybrid structure, meaning there are two legs in your organization (a left leg and a right leg). When people join your team — or even when your upline enrolls people in your structure — business volume begins accumulating.
Those points build up over time and can eventually lead to cycle bonuses and commissions once all requirements are met. But here’s the catch. If you lose your active status, that accumulated volume resets, and you will have to start building it again. This is why many people choose to stay active even before they start actively sharing the patches.
Two Ways to Stay Active for Longer Periods
If you don’t want to place an order every single month, there are a couple of ways to stay active for several months at a time.
1. Maintenance Packs
Maintenance Packs are available once you’re already signed up as a Brand Partner. These bundles allow you to purchase multiple sleeves at once while staying active for several months. Depending on the pack you choose, they can keep your account active for three to six months at a time.
Many people actually prefer this option because it:
- saves on shipping
- offers deeper discounts on patches
- and removes the need to place monthly orders
2. Upgrading to the Premium Enrollment Kit
Another option is upgrading your enrollment kit to the Premium Kit. The Premium kit includes enough volume to keep you active for 3 months after purchase, since it contains a large amount of PV upfront. This option tends to make the most sense for people who plan to share the patches or build a business.
The Easiest Way to Stay Active
If you plan to stay active consistently, there are two simple strategies most Brand Partners use:
- Set up an autoship for patches each month or
- Purchase a Maintenance Pack every few months
Either option helps make sure you don’t accidentally lose your active status.
Final Thoughts
To summarize:
You do not need to stay active in order to remain a LifeWave Brand Partner or continue receiving wholesale pricing. However, if you think you may want to share the patches or earn commissions in the future, staying active allows you to start accumulating business volume early. Even if you’re not actively building a business yet, those points can quietly build in the background.
And when you’re ready to start sharing the patches, you’ll already have a head start.
