Hey there and happy Saturday. Today we get to talk all about how to avoid dry scalp with natural hair care. That’s what I am talking about, let’s beat the dry air hair without damaging it! I have partnered up with Mountain Rose Herbs to create a simple recipe for you to make your own shampoo at home for less than 2 dollars. Dang, I’ll take it. Let’s go.
Winter doesn’t have to be for dead hair, split ends or dry scalp. With some TLC we can nourish your hair and scalp. Mountain Rose Herbs sponsored this post and I am stoked to have made this QUICK shampoo recipe. It has no fillers, artificial preservatives, SLS, phthalates or other junk that wreaks havoc on your health.
Mountain Rose Herbs dedicates time to creating a business of integrity and clean products that they’re proud of. They create products that compliment your health instead of robbing from it. Not only that, they source environmentally friendly products so we can love our little nature friends.
Additionally, they want you and me to have access to safe products that are also affordable.
Ain’t nobody got time fo’ debt. Anyways, Mr.Simplholstic was the subject of this experimental recipe and he thought it was perfect for his dry scalp. We even used it to get rid of dry skin and unwanted build up from oils in other shampoos.
No husbands were harmed in the making of this post. Of course, husbands did experience a cool scalp, diminished dry skin and random touches to his super sleek hair. Warning: you may experience these same things 🙂
Non-toxic Dry Scalp Shampoo
1/2 cup of the following:
canned organic coconut milk
filtered water
castille soap
1/2 t. olive oil
1 t. of the following:
pomegranate seed oil
apple cider vinegar
baking soda
20 drops of rosemary essential oil
1 T. fenugreek powder
First, mix all ingredients with an electric mixer & transfer into a bottle
Then, massage into your hair and rinse out
*if you have lots of hair (like me, you’ll want to do a second rinse with other shampoo)
This whole process took less than 10 minutes. That is including the time it took me to click a few buttons online to order it and making the cleansing shampoo in the comfort of my own home. I’d say we have a winner. What do you think? Comment below and share your favorite healthy DIY tricks!
i have been dealing with dry scalp so will be looking into making this very soon. thank you for this recipe.
I am so glad you stopped in. This is a great mask and you can use it as a shampoo if your hair is super thirsty. I like to wash with it and then the next day wash it out with a different shampoo like acure!
Let me know how you like it!
