Many of you have been following along and praying for my sons eye. This is the most efficient way for me to update the literal THOUSANDS of people praying for him. We are humbled and completely overwhelmed by our community across the globe.
We left for Portland this morning since we were transferred to a pediatric retinal specialist due to the severity of his injury. We arrived around 2 and went in for his appointment at 245. On our way in (we woke him from his nap) he said (rather irritated) “mom, why are we here my eye is healed!” They did another ultrasound and exam and just like the last two, I became extremely queasy and lightheaded.
He was a champ (like every other visit) and just lays there nursing letting them do what they need to do. We went into the waiting room and waited for the surgeon. Him and a colleague came in – acting strange – and because of the bad news after bad news after bad news we’ve received, I didn’t know what to think.
He looked at us – speechless – then said “I’ve never seen this. We’re cancelling your surgery for Wednesday. His eye is somehow healing, his lens is somehow moving back into place and his retina doesn’t look damaged. I won’t know for certain until I get a closer look but we’re not doing surgery and we’ll have you come back in Monday. Then, if he needs surgery, the earliest it would be is in a month.”
I left the room early on because our little guy really doesn’t like those rooms. So I didn’t hear any of this news other than that he looks like he’s healing. Tommy and my mother in law came out, bawling, in amazement. We hugged and couldn’t speak. We’re just thankful.
We prayed for a miracle & so did all of you. It’s incredible. We’re overwhelmed, thankful, on our knees and exhausted.
I will continue to update here. Our prayers are that his retina is in fact not damaged and his eye continues to miraculously heal.
Crying with praise. Thank God!
so incredible!!
