This warming turmeric latte is sure to leave your belly soothed and happy. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory root that has been long used medicinally and in the diet. Its bright orange/yellow pigment gives away the fact that it is high in antioxidants. These nutrients will scrounge up free radicals that wreak havoc in your body. Sip before bed, right when you wake up or during the day. You won’t regret it.
What’s the hype with turmeric?
Well, besides the fact that it’s a superfood powerhouse herb.. people have been using it for hundreds of thousands of years to heal. It’s at the top of the list of the world’s most widely used herbs. The curcumin found in turmeric and is what makes it what we call a function food: “foods that have a potentially positive effect on health beyond basic nutrition.” It’s been shows to slow/prevent blood cots, reduce depression symptoms, fight inflammation, fight arthritis and prevent certain cancers.

There are numerous ways you can add turmeric into your daily regimen. Add it to curries, soups, smoothies, stir-fry, desserts, warm drinks and fresh juice. Turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, star anise and some other herbs make for a mean chai so, get on that! Whatever you do, do it for your health because you deserve every bit of it.
What you’ll need for your turmeric latte
homemade nut milk
filtered water
turmeric powder/paste
black pepper
optional:
raw local honey/maple syrup
8oz. raw milk
8 oz. boiling water (filtered)
1 tablespoon turmeric
1/2 t. fresh grated ginger
honey/maple syrup
sprinkle of black pepper
1 tablespoon coconut oil

*place all ingredients in a high speed blender & blend on high for 1 minute
** fresh is alway better so, if you can find some fresh turmeric and ginger, GET IT.
