You haven’t seen many raw milk recipes on here because I usually keep them to myself 😉 I had to share this Reishi Hot Chocolate with you though since I’ve been making it in the van all the time. Along with my Grain Free Thumbprint Cookies, this are a new favorite. Raw milk is different than the milk you buy at the store so, don’t go running!
Raw Milk Recipes
You’ll be seeing a lot more raw milk recipes on here as I go back out of the cities and am able to find it. It is a pretty medicinal substance but has been banned by the FDA to sell for human consumption (go figure). It’s milk in its purest and most unadulterated form. No pasteurization, no homogenization and no added minerals/vitamins like the harmful vitamin A palmitate. Filled with natural minerals, vitamins and enzymes.
What you’ll need
organic chocolate chips
local & organic raw milk
reishi mushroom powder
vanilla collagen <– you can’t make it without this, it’s SO good
optional sweetener (honey or maple syrup)
Science because.. it’s what I love
Some studies show that children raised on farms have a decreased risk of asthma and allergies. “A possible factor that has been hypothesized as being involved in this effect is the early ingestion of raw cow’s milk” (1). If you’re afraid of getting harmful bacteria from raw milk, you’re 35,000x more likely to get it from other foods (2).
I’ll keep it brief since this is a raw milk recipes post but I will dive into the science and benefits of raw milk in a future blog post.
- 1 cup raw milk local & organic
- 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips heavy metal tested
- 1 scoop Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp star anise
- 1/2 tsp reishi mushroom powder
- optional honey or maple syrup
add 1/4 c raw milk and chocolate chips to the pot and allow them to melt (stir regularly)
add remaining ingredients (not the milk) and mix all together
