My Nontoxic Baby Registry Must-Haves

We are expecting baby #2 and the second time around (like the first), I have sourced organic, nontoxic baby registry must-haves. You all know I am passionate about organic, non-toxic and sustainable food, clothes and products for myself… so of course we do the same for our babies! There is nothing more important than creating a healthy environment for your baby. Sadly, many baby clothes, baby products and diapering items are full of toxic chemicals.

You Don’t Need A Pile of “Stuff”

Because I am also into minimalism and not really a “stuff” person, I specifically look for items we need versus more “baby stuff”. Things that don’t align with our holistic lifestyle will quickly be passed along. I don’t keep stuff that doesn’t fit into my nontoxic lifestyle. For example, flame-resistant polyester nighties or BPA plastic baby bottles!

What I Look for in My Nontoxic Baby Registry

There are a few keywords that will make building our your registry easier. First off, these are the certifications I trust. I know that nothing is perfect, but these are a great place to start. You need to read the full label and find brands you know and trust. That’s how you know you’re getting the best non-toxic baby registry must-haves. Here’s the keywords I look for:

What I Totally Avoid

It’s a total shame to realize that our regulatory system in the US is absolute garbage. That means you gotta do the research yourself and look out for the bad stuff. Sometimes you might have to reach out to the company the ask how things are made or what’s in them. Toxic, unnatural chemicals are added to SO many items made for babies and children. They cause a laundry list of side effects and illnesses from rashes to cancer. Yuck! I wish this list wasn’t so long. Here’s the toxins we avoid all of the time:

  • phthalates
  • formaldehyde
  • flame retardents
  • heavy metals
  • PCBs
  • chlorine bleach
  • synthetic fibers
  • GMOs
  • petrochemicals
  • polyurethane foam
  • parabens
  • fragrance
  • PFAs
  • VOCs

Some Brands I Love and Trust:

Some of the things on my list include Merino wool booties from Mama Owl, chemical-free baby wipes from Coterie, and Dyper bamboo baby diapers. I also love the MoonWomb pillow from The Sustainable Baby Co. and the organic cotton changing pad from Naturepedic. I’m always on the lookout for natural fibers like organic cotton and pure wool. And I make sure that baby products are free from chemicals!

My Nontoxic Baby Registry Must-Haves

I put a lot of thought into this registry and I hope it’s a useful tool and guide for your buying decisions. Remember: don’t get overwhelmed with temptation to buy all the stuff. Keep it simple and minimal and focus on what matters: your healthy and happy baby.

Pain-free cycles, peaceful pregnancy, healthy clear skin and actually feeling warm were far off dreams for me just 3 years ago. I couldn’t even imagine having a glass of raw milk or enjoying a bowl of garden salsa (it made me bloated just thinking about it!). Worst of all, I was unsure if I’d ever get to start a family. From being passed out on the bathroom floor from the pain of rupturing ovarian cysts to a vibrant and healthy mom.
